Prof. Dr. Levent Alpay [1] He began his medical career by successfully graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. He completed his specialty training in thoracic surgery at one of Turkey’s most well-established and specialized institutions, Istanbul Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital, in 2001, earning the title of specialist doctor.
Prof. Dr. Levent Alpay [2] , who has carried out a significant part of his career with academic and clinical achievements within Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Hospital, served as a Specialist Doctor between 2001 and 2010, and as a Chief Assistant between 2010 and 2015. Crowned his professional experience with academic success, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2015, and was promoted to Professor in the same institution in 2021.
After working here as a Chief Assistant for many years, he received the title of Associate Professor in 2016 and continued his duty as a Professor in the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Obstetrics at the University of Health Sciences Hamidiye Faculty of Medicine in 2022.
Prof. Dr. Levent Alpay, who has also brought his academic and surgical experience to the private healthcare sector, served as a Professor at Medicana Ataköy Hospital between 2023 and 2026. As of 2026, he continues his professional work and accepts patients at Medistate Çekmeköy and Kavacık hospitals.
Dr. Alpay has advanced-level experience in highly specialized procedures, particularly in thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery and the surgical treatment of mediastinal diseases, and provides comprehensive and reliable treatment solutions to his patients by utilizing up-to-date medical technologies.
STAGE 1
The tumor is only in the lung and has not spread to the lymph nodes.
STAGE 2
The tumor has grown slightly or has spread to nearby lymph nodes.
STAGE 3
The tumor has spread to the mediastinal lymph nodes in the rib cage.
STAGE 4
The cancer has spread to other organs or the opposite lung.
He graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1993. After completing his compulsory service in Birecik, Şanlıurfa, he started his specialty training at Süreyyapaşa Thoracic Surgery Center.
He worked at Ohio Clevand Clinic, USA, and carried out studies on Lung Cancer and Videothoracoscopic Surgery, then returned home and was appointed as chief assistant and associate professor.
After being entitled to become a "Thoracic Surgery Specialist", he started to work as a thoracic surgery specialist in the same center in the same year.
He worked on "Lung Cancer" and "Videothoracoscopic Surgery" at Clevand Clinic in Ohio, USA.
He was appointed to the "Chief Assistant" staff in the same clinic.
He received the title of "Associate Professor" and was appointed as an "education officer".
He became a "professor" at the University of Health Sciences.
After attaining his professorship at Süreyyapaşa Thoracic Surgery Hospital, Prof. Dr. Alpay has been continuing his clinical practice at Medistate since 2026.
He has been deemed worthy of various presentations and awards by national and international scientific associations and training congresses in thoracic surgery.
